NTA opens CUET UG 2026 applications

The National Testing Agency has started accepting online applications for CUET-UG 2026 (Common University Entrance Test – Under Graduate). The test is schedule to be conducted from 11 May to 31 May 2026.

Application deadline is 30 Jan 2026 (11.50PM).

Please note that date of conduct of JEE-Advanced (17 May 2026) and PUTHAT (15 May 2026) is also in the same date window (11 May to 31 May) as CUET-UG.

CUET-UG key facts

a) Choice of test papers permissible: Candidates may choose a maximum of 05 Subjects including languages and General Aptitude Test, irrespective of the subjects opted in Class 12.

b) Subjects on offer: Total 37 (13 Languages, 23 Domain specific subjects and 1 General Aptitude test).

c) Completely online test

CUET will be conducted in completely online mode (Computer Based Test).

Till 2024, it was conducted in hybrid mode (15 papers were conducted in pen and paper mode and the rest in online mode).

d) Test duration

Each paper will be of 1 hour duration.

e) Number of questions

There will be 50 questions in every paper.

f) All questions compulsory (no choice)

There will be no choice in question papers - all questions are compulsory.

g) Test cities choice

Candidates can select maximum four Convenient Cities as their Choice of Cities for the exam Centre in order of their priority. Choice of Centre Cities will be limited to the State of Permanent Address or State of Present Address only and in certain cases, only one option may also be available based on the address criteria.
