VITEEE 2026 applications open, Marking scheme changed

Vellore Institute of Technology (Deemed University) has started accepting online applications for admission in B.Tech programs for the academic session starting in 2026. The admissions shall be based on its entrance exam VITEEE.

Application deadline: 31 March 2026

Date of entrance exam: 28 April to 3 May 2026

Change in marking scheme:  Please note that this year, there will be negative marking. While a correct answer gets +4 marks, every incorrect response will attract a penalty of -1 mark.

About VIT: VIT Vellore is a Deemed to be University and also has been declared an Institute of Eminence by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.

It has two campuses in Chennai (Tamil Nadu), one each in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) and Amravati (Andhra Pradesh).  The Bhopal and Amravati campuses are registered as State Private Universities.  However, admissions to all the programs across the four-campus shall be based on VITEEE.

PCM / PCB based eligibility

1. PCMB/PCM applicants who have attempted Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude (MPCEA) in VITEEE 2026 with 60% aggregate of marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and with not less than 50% of marks in Mathematics in +2/HSC/Intermediate examination are eligible for admission to all B. Tech Programmes.

2. PCMB/PCB applicants who have attempted Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude (BPCEA) in VITEEE 2026 or PCB applicants who have attempted Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude (MPCEA) in VITEEE 2026 with 60% aggregate marks in Biology, Physics and Chemistry and with not less than 50% of marks in Biology in +2/HSC/Intermediate examination are eligible for admission to the following programmes only:

B.Tech. Biotechnology (VIT - Vellore, VIT - Chennai)

B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (Bioinformatics), (VIT - Vellore)

B.Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering (Biomedical Engineering), (VIT - Vellore)

B.Tech. Health Sciences and Technology (VIT - Vellore)

B.Tech. Bioengineering (VIT - Bhopal)

B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (Health Informatics), (VIT - Bhopal)

B.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering (Education Technology), (VIT - Bhopal)
