About the program : STEP (Systematic Training and Education Programme) is a 3 year programme that offers practical training at a hotel of The Oberoi Group. Students are trained in the four core operational departments of a hotel : Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage Service and Kitchen. In addition to practical training in a hotel of The Oberoi Group, students you are enrolled for a Bachelor's Degree in Tourism Studies (BTS) from the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Assistance is provided in the form of a dedicated study day once a week, IGNOU fees, reference books and an additional three weeks leave to enable students to take the IGNOU exams. Additionally, a monthly stipend, accommodation, meals on duty, uniform and medical insurance is also provided.
Two programs are offered under STEP
i) Hotel Operations : This consists of various sections within three operations departments of Food and Beverage, Front Office and Housekeeping.
ii) Kitchen Operations : This involves training in Western and Indian kitchens and specialist sections such as bakery, pastry and cold kitchen.
Degree and Certification : On successful completion of the programme you will be awarded a Bachelor of Tourism Studies (BTS) degree from IGNOU. You will also receive a Certificate of Proficiency from The Oberoi Group for the training you will undergo during the three-year STEP programme. Follow us on Follow us on
