Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla was established on 22nd July 1970. Functioning under "The Executive Council" of the Himachal Pradesh University since 2000, University Institute of Information Technology (UIIT) admits students from all over the country to its B. Tech. Programmes. The B. Tech.(IT) course has the approval of
AICTE and the approval of B.Tech.(CSE) is under process at an advance stage and is expected by April 2016.
Courses offered : B.Tech in (i) Information Technology (ii) Computer Science Engineering
Domicile / Open quota breakup
(i) Of the total seats, 40% shall be open for all the candidates irrespective of the institution from where they have passed their qualifying examination.
(ii) 60% of the seats shall be filled out of the candidates who have passed their qualifying examination (10+2) from schools located within Himachal Pradesh
