UCEED to be accepted by IIITD and CIT

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIIT-D), has introduced a new course B.Tech in Computer Science & Design.

Course : 4 Year B.Tech in Computer Science & design

As stated by the institute, “The BTech in Computer Science (CS) and Design aims to develop graduates that are not only well versed with computing approaches, tools, and technologies, but are also experienced with Design approaches and new Media technologies and uses. The program has a small set of core courses in CS and Design, and many electives which can be taken from CS as well as Design and Digital Media. This enables the students to build a program most suitable for them. The program will prepare students to work in the IT industry as well as digital media industry like gaming, animation, virtual/augmented reality, etc. The program will also allow students, who want to pursue higher studies, to take up higher studies in CS/IT or in Design.

No. of seats : 50 (Delhi quota – 43, Outside Delhi – 7)

Mode of admission : Admission will be made through two channels

(a) on the basis of merit in JEE Mains conducted by CBSE and

(b) on the basis of merit in UCEED conducted by IIT Mumbai. 

21 Delhi seats will be filled through JEE Mains (JAC), Rest of the seats will be filled through UCEED entrance exam merit and counselling conducted by IIT Mumbai

While UCEED has already been conducted for 2017-18 batch admissions, JEE Mains is scheduled to be held in the month of April.

Central Institute of Technology (CIT), a Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI) under Ministry of HRD, Government of India, is mentored by IIT Guwahati. In 2016, it started a 4 Year B.Design programme, the intake to which has been more than doubled for the 2017-18 batch. Students of all streams – Science / Commerce / Arts are eligible for admission.

Course : 4 Year B.Design

No. of seats : 45 (17% seats are for All India quota)

Mode of admission : Admission to B.Design is through two channel

(a) on the basis of merit in CITBDAT conducted by CIT followed by counselling at CIT and

(b) on the basis of merit in UCEED conducted by IIT Mumbai.  However, the institute will allot seats through its own counselling process and will be not be part of the Joint Admissions Exercise conducted by IIT Bombay. UCEED qualified candidates should apply directly to the institute.

While UCEED has already been conducted for 2017-18 batch admissions, CITBDAT applications are in progress, with the exam scheduled to be conducted on 7th May 2017.
