The Paradigm Challenge - By American Red Cross

The Paradigm Challenge is an annual competition that inspires youth aged 4 to 18 around the world to use kindness, creativity, and collaboration to make a difference.

The Paradigm Challenge is an ongoing student competition with new Challenge Projects announced every two years.

Conducting body: The Paradigm Challenge is created and executed by Project Paradigm, a private foundation headquartered in Los Angeles, California in collaboration with the American Red Cross.

Who can participate: Participants must be aged 4 to 18 as of the date an entry is submitted.  Anyone from across the world may participate.

Challenge topics: There are 5 paradigm challenge projects that students can choose from.  The students can individually or form teams to solve the issues under any of the 5 challenge projects.

The 5 challenge projects are:

1. Home Fires

2. Waste Reduction

3. Personal Health

4. Food Security

5. Biodiversity

There is no minimum or maximum team size.
