Panjab Univ extends PUTHAT 2020 dates by 5 months

Panjab University offers (a) 4 years Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) and (b) 4 years Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM) in University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management, Chandigarh. The admission to both the courses is through the admission test PUTHAT, the application process for which was started on 24 March. Owing to progressive lockdowns, the entire application and admission test schedule has been extended by as much as 5 months.

Revised dates

Last date to generate Login ID & password for further application : 25 Sep (old date was 23 April 2020)

Last date for fee payment : 28 Sep 2020 (old date was 27 April 2020)

Date of PUTHAT : 16 Oct 2020 (changed from old date of 15 May 2020)

Course wise intake

(a) Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) : 60 + 6 NRI +3 Foreign Nationals)

(b) 4 years Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM) : 30 +3 NRI + 2 Foreign Nationals

Additional Seats available for following :

(i) One girl child out of the only two girl children

(ii) Cancer, AIDS and Thalassemia patient

(iii) Wards of Kashmiri Displaced Persons

(iv) Rural Area Students

(v) Border Area Students

(vi) Youth Festival Participants

Eligibility : The Panjab University Tourism and Hospitality Aptitude Test (PUTHAT) is open to all such candidates who have passed (up to the Academic Session 2019-2020) in the 10+2 Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or its equivalent Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University/Council with not less than 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/BC/PwD Categories) in the aggregate and English as one of the Compulsory Subjects.
