Panjab University, established 130 years ago, has been contributing to the field of industry and academia. To meet the needs of demand of hospitality and tourism industry, a new department was established in 2009 with the name of University Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism (UIHMT) which for human resource development with the focus on Hospitality and Tourism sector. It is now renamed as University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management (UIHTM).

Courses offered and seats : 4 years Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) 60 seats (+6 NRI) and Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM) 30 seats (+3 NRI)
