NTA releases JEE Mains 2026 application advisory and instructions
In its first notification dated 29 Sep 2025 about JEE Mains 2026, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released advisory about updation of Aadhaar Card / UDID Card / Category Certificate (EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL) before applying for the entrance exam. The exam will be conducted in 2 sessions – Session 1 in Jan 2026 and Session 2 in April 2026.
The advisory asks the aspirants to ensure that the following documents are updated well in advance before applying for the entrance exam in order to avoid any discrepancies / grievances and/or rejection at a later stage:
1. Aadhaar card: Should be updated with correct name, date of birth (as in Class 10 certificate), latest photograph, address and father’s name.
2. UDID card (for Persons with Disabilities): Should be valid, updated and renewed as required.
3. Category certificate: EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL certificate should be updated and valid.
Imp note about Humanities & Commerce students’ eligibility: Important to note that unless NTA changes it this year, students of any stream who pass the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) with 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in aggregate of the qualifying examination are eligible to attempt JEE-Mains Paper 2B and thereby get admission in B.Planning course even in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs.
