NTA Announces New Date For NCET 2024
Published on : 30-Jun-2024 Powered by www.Opasis.comNational Testing Agency (NTA) has now released the new date for conducting the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) for admission to 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in selected Central / State University / Institutions including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges. It was earlier scheduled to be conducted on 12 Jun 2024 but NTA postponed it citing technical reasons.

Course(s) covered by NCET: BA-BEd, BSc-BEd, BCom-BEd (4 Year Integrated programmes)
About the 4 Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme: The ITEP is a Dual Major Programme:
- first major is in Education with School Specific Stage specialization and
- second major is in an opted discipline.
Beyond the teaching of cutting-edge pedagogy, the teacher education will include a grounding in sociology, history, science, psychology, early childhood care, and education, foundational literacy and numeracy, knowledge of India and its values / ethos / art / traditions, and more. [NEP 2020: 15.5]
List of Universities/Institutions: There are 64 participating universities/institutes.
- BA-BEd is offered In 51 Universities / Institutes
- BCom-BEd is offered in 14 Universities / Institutes
- BSc-BEd is offered n 42 Universities / Institutes
Please note that not all courses are offered at every institute. Institute wise list of offering is provided in Annexure II of NTA brochure.
Counseling: Candidates who will be appearing in NCET will participate in the Counselling / admission process of any Central / State University / Institution (IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Govt. Colleges) which have been granted recognition by NCTE for ITEP for the academic session 2024-25. University/ Institution / Govt. College may fill up the vacant seats thereafter from the pool of NCET-qualified candidates.
