NSUT Delhi Starts 2024 BDesign Applications

Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) Delhi invites applications for 2024 admissions in its 4 Year Bachelor of Design course.

What has changed – multiple specializations option: Till 2023, it used to offer two courses namely BDesign-Product Design and BDesign-Fashion Technology. However, starting from this session (2024-25), it will be offering common admissions in B.Des programme. Students will have the flexibility to opt for a “Bachelor of Design with specialization in XXX” (XXX is the specialization offered) by choosing appropriate number of electives in their chosen specialization in the third and fourth year of study.

The specializations planned at this time (may change in future) are:

a) Product Design

b) Communication Design

c) Interaction Design

d) Game Design

e) Fashion Design and Technology

Students not opting for specialization will be awarded a “Bachelor of Design” degree.

The Department of Design at Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) was established in the year 2020 with the objective of imparting advanced and progressive design education to young design aspirants. The department is currently running the UG programmes in the Design discipline, offering specializations in multiple areas.

Application and dates: Applications need to be made in online mode, using only Chrome web browser.

Last date to apply is 29 May 2024.

Dates for seat allocation & admission rounds are not yet announced. Last year, 2 regular and 1 spot round was conducted.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

Candidates who have passed the 12th class examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Examination are eligible.

a) First priority will be given to those students who have cleared “UCEED” entrance exam conducted by IIT Bombay.

b) Second priority will be given to those students who have secured a rank in a National Level “Design” Entrance Examination (or an entrance exam in allied Design fields), for a Four Year Course of any Central (“Government of India”) funded Institute/University.

c) Third priority will be given to those students who have secured a rank in a State Level “Design” Entrance Examination (or an entrance exam in allied Design fields), for a Four Year Course of any State Government funded Institute/University.

Note:

- Only General/Open/All India ranks of the entrance examinations will be considered. Category ranks will not be considered. In case of Institutes that conduct a preliminary entrance examination followed by a final examination, the scores of preliminary exam will only be considered.

- If two or more applicants have the same rank (for any of the categories above) , then the candidate with higher marks in Class XII exam (best of four subjects - Language plus three) will be considered. If there is a tie in the Class XII marks as well, the candidate older in age will be ranked higher.

- In case of any unavoidable ambiguity in the "above seat allocation procedure" during "seat allotment", the decision will be taken by the competent authority of NSUT and shall be binding on all.
