4 Yr BSc Nursing (+ 1 year internship)
3 Year (+1 Yr internship) B.Sc. in Anaesthesia Technology
3 Year (+1 Yr internship) B.Sc. in Medical Imaging Technology
3 Year (+1 Yr internship) B.Sc. in Clinical Neurophysiology Technology
Eligibility Criteria for UG courses
a. Candidates with PUC or 10 + 2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with 45% aggregate in the above subjects can apply for B.Sc. in Nursing course.
b. Candidates with PUC or 10 + 2 with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology or job oriented diploma courses from a recognized board with an aggregate of 45% can apply for B.Sc. in Medical Imaging Technology course.
c. Candidates with PUC or 10 + 2 or equivalent with a Science group having secured an aggregate of 45% in Science subjects for B.Sc. in Anaesthesia Technology/ B.Sc. in Clinical Neurophysiology & Technology courses.
d. A relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate will be given for candidates belonging to SC/ST category.

About the institute : The Government of India established the All India Institute of Mental Health in 1954 in association with the then existing Mental Hospital of the Government of Karnataka. The All India Institute of Mental Health and the Mental Hospital of the Government of Karnataka were amalgamated into an autonomous institute and thus the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) came into existence in 1974.
NIMHANS was conferred ‘Deemed to be University’ status by UGC in 1994 and it became an autonomous and independent university.
NIMHANS was declared as an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament vide Government of India Gazette Notification dated 14.9.2012.
The Institute has 28 departments with dedicated faculty and skilled professionals in basic, behavioural and neurosciences. Currently, there are 1221 students enrolled in different courses which includes 270 PhD scholars. Apart from providing quality care for the patients, human resource development in the areas of mental health and neurosciences has been a major focus of the Institute. NIMHANS has been rated among the top five medical institutes in the country in NIRF rankings for the fourth consecutive year (All India Rank 3 in 2023).
