College Admissions & Entrance Exams Updates
JEE (Advanced) 2017 Date Announced
Published on : 26-Sep-2016 Powered by www.Opasis.comJEE (Advanced), the most coveted entrance exam for admission in IITs, ISM and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes, is scheduled to be held on 21st May 2017. The detailed notification and other information is yet to be published. Last year, it was conducted by IIT Guwahati.
Earlier in the year, Ministry of HRD had come up with the new guidelines for JEE (Mains) 2017 eligibility, the key takeaways of which are:
(a) There shall be no weightage for the 12th class marks in calculating the ranks in the JEE Mains examination.
(b) For the candidates to qualify for admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) whose admissions are based on the JEE ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class exam or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class exam conducted by the respective Boards.
(c) For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the Class 12th exam.
