JEE (Advanced) 2016 Announced

Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IIt conducting the exam for 2016) has announced the date for JEE (Advanced) exam for admissions in the 2016-17 batch.
Exam date : 22 May 2016
Eligibility : A candidate, including a foreign national, must fulfill each and every one of the following five criteria to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2016
Criterion 1 Performance in JEE (Mains) : Details not yet published
Criterion 2 Age Limit : The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1991 if belonging to the GEN or OBC-NCL category and on or after October 1, 1986 if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.
Criterion 3 No of Attempts : A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times and that too in consecutive years. Therefore, JEE (Advanced) 2016 should be either the FIRST attempt OR the SECOND consecutive attempt.
Criterion 4 Class 12 or equivalent examintaion : The candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in all the subjects in either 2015 or 2016. Candidates who appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2015 and wish to reappear in the same in 2016 (either for improvement or because they failed in one or more subjects), will have to reappear in all the subjects in 2016. Those who appeared for the first time in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2014 or earlier are NOT eligible. However, candidates whose Class XII (or equivalent) examination Board results for the academic year 2013-14 were declared after June 2014 are eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2016.
Perofrmance in class 12 : One of the criteria for admission to IITs and ISM is that the candidate should satisfy at least one of these two criteria (a) He/she is within the category wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in his/her respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination. (b) He/she has secured 75% (for GEN or OBCNCL) or 70% (SC, ST or PwD) of aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination. For calculating the aggregate marks and the cutoff marks for fulfilling the top 20 percentile criterion, marks scored in Physics, Chemistry, Maths, 1 language (if the candidate has taken more than one language, then the language with the higher marks will be considered) and Any subject other than the above four (the subject with the higher marks) will be considered.
Criterion 5 Earlier admission in IITs/ISM : The candidate should NOT have been admitted (irrespective of whether or not he/she continued in the program) OR even accepted the seat by paying seat acceptance fee at any of the IITs or ISM in the past. The candidates whose admission at IITs or ISM was cancelled are also NOT eligible. However, candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs in 2015 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2016.
Note : Candidates desirous of joining the B. Arch. (Architecture) courses will have to PASS in the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT). Only those candidates who have qualified in JEE (Advanced) 2016 are eligible to appear in AAT in 2016. AAT will be conducted only at the seven Zonal IITs.
