IISER Bhopal is starting a BS-MS dual degree programme with a “major” in
(a) Chemical Engineering and (
b) Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from 2017 batch.

About IISERs
Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) were created in 2006 through a proclamation of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, to promote quality education and research in basic sciences. Soon after the announcement, two of these Institutes at Pune and Kolkata, respectively, were started in 2006. This was followed by an Institute at Mohali (2007) and at Bhopal and Trivandrum in 2008. Each IISER is a degree granting autonomous institution with a prime focus to integrate science education and research, with a motive of attracting bright students and world class faculty. Effective 2017, there will be 7 IISERs – Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Tirupati.
Admission procedure and dates for 2017
In order to be eligible for admission to BS-MS dual degree programme at IISERs, candidates must have passed Class XII board exams in 2016 of be passing in 2017 with Science stream need to meet at least one of the following 3 criteria :
(a) Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) : Valid KVPY fellowship commencing 2017-18 academic session (additional cut off criteria may be applicable).
(b) IIT JEE-Advanced 2017 : Securing atleast 60% marks in Class XII and securing a position I JEE Advanced rank list for admission to IIT (additional cut off criteria may be applicable).
(c) State and Central Boards (SCB) : Students with marks equal to or above the cut off percentage in class XII board examination. Students applying through SCB channel will have to qualify the IISER Aptitude Test.
The application fee is Rs.2,000 (Rs.1,000 for SC/ST candidates).The application portal for admission will be opened in fourth week of May 2017.
Scholarships : Students admitted through KVPY will be eligible for KVPY scholarship. Limited number of INSPIRE scholarships of Rs.5,000 per month will be availbel for candidates admissted through JEE Advanced and SCB channels.
