IISER Applications Started for KVPY & SCB Mode
Published on : 23-May-2018 Powered by www.Opasis.comApplications (KVPY & SCB channels) to the 5 Year Integrated BS-MS programs and 4-Year BS in Economic Sciences offered by the seven Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) have commenced. To promote high quality scientific education, research and training, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, has set up seven Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) at Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Tirupati. Students can learn the basic sciences through a detailed program and, in parallel, work on cutting-edge research alongside exceptional faculty members.
Total Intake : 1300 seats for 5-Year BS-MS Programs across 7 IISERs; 60 seats at IISER Bhopal for BS in Economic Sciences program
Modes of admission : There are three channels of admission. Candidates will be admitted to IISER only through these channels.
Mode 1: Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) channel: Candidates having a valid KVPY fellowship commencing from 2018-19 academic session are eligible to apply for admissions. Additional cut off criteria may be applicable. (No need to take IISER Aptitude Test).
Mode 2: Joint Entrance Examination - Advanced (JEE-Adv) of Indian Institutes of Technology (JEE) channel (No need to take IISER Aptitude Test)
Mode 3: State and Central Boards Channel (SCB) channel (IISER Aptitude Test). There is a minimum cut-off that candidates need in order to apply for IISER Aptitude test. The cut-offs differ from each board (CBSE, ICSE, various state boards).
