GUJCET Reintroduced

The Gujarat State Govt has decided to grant admission through ACPC (Admission Committee For Professional Courses) in Degree Engineering, Degree/Diploma Pharmacy in Govt, Grant-in-Aid and Self Finance institutes in the state by considering GUJCET as Common Entrance Test instead of JEE Mains examination from admission year 2017.

 

In this copntex, the Govt resolution dated 19 Nov 2016 has the following important provisions :

 

1. The said resolution incorporates result of GUJCET examination only as CET result in preparation of merit list for admission carried out by this committee (ACPC) to Degree Engineering and Degree/Diploma Pharmacy after Std XII Science in Govt, Grant-in-Aid and Self Finance institutes in the state for Govt Quota seats and Management Quota seats from academic year 2017 onwards.

2. In case of special provisions in certain institutes/universities as per prevailing notification of filling 50% seats by ACPC in Degree Engineering after Std XII Science, the result obtained in GUJCET examination will be considered for calculation of merit.

3. However, for 50% seats to be filled under All India basis as stated in above special provision to certain institutes/universities, the result of JEE Mains shall be considered for calculation of merit.

4. Candidates aspiring for admission to centrally funded institutes such as IITs, NITs, IIITs and other such institutes of other states, will have to appear for JEE Main examination.
