GGSIPU To Prefer Own CET Over CUET-UG

Although Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IP University) Delhi decided to accept CUET-UG 2023 scores, it has decided to continue with its own Common Entrance Tests for various UG courses. And shall give first preference for admission to students who attempt  its own entrance tests.

So what is the admission criteria? Well, the admissions shall be on the basis of the merit of the University’s own Common Entrance Test (CET).

The vacant seats after exhausting the merit list of CET will be filled through the merit list of CUET.

And in some select courses, in keeping with the past practice, only the national level entrance test scores will be considered as detailed below. 

A) Admissions Through Entrance Test (CET) to be Conducted by The University 

1) 3 Year Bachelor of Arts (Economics) (Honours)  - CET Code 197  
2) 3 Year Bachelor of Arts (English) (Honours) - CET Code 184    
3) 3-Year BBA, BBA (Banking & Insurance) and BBA (Computer Aided Management) - CET Code 125  
4) 3 Year Bachelor of Computer Applications - CET Code 114  
5) 3-Year B.Com (Hons) - CET Code 146 
6) 3 Year Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communication  - CET Code 126  
7) 4 year Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) - CET Code 127
8) 4 Year B.Tech (Biotechnology) - CET Code 130  
9) 4 Year BSc (Hons) Nursing – CET Code 115 (the first priority in this course is for NEET. Leftover seats will be filled through merit of University’s own CET).

CET format: The CET shall be Computer Based Test of 2.5 hrs duration which shall be held in Bangalore, Chandigarh, Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Noida.

Application last date: The last date to apply for IPU’s CET is 30 April 2023.

B) National Level Test-Based Admissions: For the below programs, the respective CET codes are required to be entered while filling in the application form

1. B.Tech via JEE-Mains
2. B.Arch via NATA
3. MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS via NEET 
4. BA-LLB & BBA-LLB via CLAT
5) 4 Year BSc (Hons) Nursing - via NEET
6) Bachelor of Design - For this, first priority will be to score of national level design entrance tests like UCEED / NID DAT / JEE part II / NATA etc, followed by University’s own CET (CET Code 600) and thereafter the score of CUET. 

C) Paramedical courses through CET followed by CUET

(a) First preference to University’s own CET (CET Code 124) followed by CUET score for Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT), Bachelor of Prosthetics & Orthotics (BPO), Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology-{B.SC.(MLT)}, Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (BASLP)
(b) First preference to University’s own CET (CET Code 134) followed by CUET score for B.Sc. Medical Imaging Technology BSc (MIT)
(c) First preference to University’s own CET (CET Code 158) followed by CUET score for B.Sc. Medical Technology Radiotherapy
