Draft New Education Policy hits bumps
Published on : 04-Aug-2016 Powered by www.Opasis.comThe draft National Education Policy is facing early headwinds and opposition. A section of educationists and civil society members have shared concerns regarding
a) having two separate class X exams: Stream A for students who pass Maths, Science & English. These students qualify for higher education. Stream B will need students to pass regional language and social science subjects. This stream is for students who opt for vocational education.
b) merging pre-school with normal school
c) No detention policy upto Class V
In addition, Govt of Delhi also had reservations regarding the New Education Policy. The objections of the Govt. of Delhi includes that on creation of 'Indian Education Service' as proposed in the draft policy.
