Cochin Univ of Sc & Tech Announces Common Admission Test
The establishment of the erstwhile University of Cochin in 1971 was a commitment from the Government of Kerala towards the new scientific policy resolution adopted by the Central Government on 4th March 1958. It was later reorganized as Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in February 1986, redefining its objectives as the promotion of graduate and post graduate studies and advanced research in applied science, technology, industry, commerce, management and social sciences.
CUSAT has at present 28 Departments of study and research offering Graduate and Post Graduate programmes across a wide spectrum of disciplines in frontier areas of Engineering, Science, Technology,Humanities, Law and Management.
Seats : 270 in CUCEK Pulincunnu, 570 in SoE Thirakkakara (Campus 1) + 91 in Campus 1 (28 in Instrumentation Tech, 43 in Naval Arch and Ship Building, 20 in Polymer Science and Engg), 80 seats in Marine Engineering at KunjaliMarakkar School of Marine Engineering
Programs under Self Financing : All programs except B. Tech in Polymer Science and Engineering, Instrumentation Technology, Naval Architecture and Ship Building and 5 Yr Integrated M.Sc. in Photonics are under Self Financing.
Reservations / All India quota : Of the total seats for B.Tech. (Self financing) 50% are State merit, 40% All India Merit and 10% are NRI payment seats. The State merit seats are reserved only for Keralite students. For B.Tech in Naval Architecture and Ship Building, Instrumentation, Polymer Science Engineering, 10% of the seats are earmarked for students on All India basis (All India Quota) and the remaining seats for the Keralites. Both Keralites and Non-Keralites are eligible to apply under AIQ. Reservation also available under various categories like SC, ST, SEBC, Physically Challenged, Sports, Jews, NRIs, Kashmiri Migrants.
