AIIMS launches 5 Yr Integ UG-PG course in Public Health
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Deoghar (Jharkhand), an Institute of National Importance under Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India has launched India’s first dual degree program in Public Health.
About the program: Offered by the institute’s Department of Community and Family Medicine, the 5-year integrated BPH-MPH program equips students with the expertise to develop effective health strategies. It is an ambitious and pioneering dual-degree initiative, designed to meet the pressing demands of the 21st-century public health landscape.
The course encompasses modules ranging from basic courses such as epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics, program management to advanced courses such as global and international health, demography and population sciences, health financing, legislations and policy & politics.
With a distinguished faculty offering academic rigor and practical insights, the program fosters a dynamic learning environment that integrates coursework, hands-on experiences, and collaborative research. Students gain the innovation and resilience needed to tackle complex health issues.
Early exit option: The candidate has exit options after obtaining Bachelors (BPH) provided that candidate can continue for MPH within 3 academic years.
Admission details
a) No. of seats: 10 (reservation of seats for SC / ST / OBC-NCL / EWS categories is as per GoI rules).
b) Admission criteria: NEET score of the year of Admission.
c) Eligibility
- Must have passed the 12th class under the 10+2 scheme or an equivalent examination from a recognized board. The subjects must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
- A minimum of 50% aggregate marks (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) is required for the General/EWS category, while 40% is required for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PWD candidates.
- English Min 40% marks.
- Should have attained or will attain the age of 17 (seventeen) years as on the 31st of December of the year of admission (2025). Candidates born on or before 31 December, 2008 are eligible.
