Pandit Deendayal Energy University (formerly Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University) is a Private University which was established in 2007 n the city of Gandhinagar, Gujarat.  The University offers programs to address the need for trained human resources in the domains of Science, Technology, Management and Humanities. Dr. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman & MD of Reliance Industries is the President of the University.

The School of Liberal Studies, a constituent School of PDPU, was launched in 2009. In its undergraduate Programme in Liberal  studies, students get a chance to learn courses like Communication Skills, Basic Sciences, Social Sciences, Management, Humanities, Foreign Languages and Performing Arts.  All the programs are  of 4 year duration, spread across 8 semesters.

B.Sc. (Hons) in Physics / Chemistry /  Maths: During the first year of the four year undergraduate programme, students get exposure to foundational courses. Remaining years of this program focus on specialization.

B.Sc.(Hons) in Chemistry - 20 seats
B.Sc.(Hons) in Maths - 20 seats

Reservation:
i) Scheduled Tribe (ST) 7.5% 
ii) Scheduled Caste (SC) 15 %
- Physically challenged will be provided 3% reservation in each category
- Girls Quota: 50% of seats shall be earmarked for girls. Seats not filled under girls quota will be opened for other students (all genders and open category) as per literal position on merit list.
- NRI-Sponsored Quota: 15% seats in total intake of the school are reserved for NRI-sponsored students (student must have completed class XII from a school situated in India to qualify for NRI-sponsored quota). To qualify, students will have to check the option while filling the application form. Students have to provide a legal affidavit from an NRI sponsor as per the format available on website at the time of admission.

Fee:

Tuition and other University related fee: Rs.1,13,000 per semester
For NRI sponsored candidates : USD 2,500 plus Rs.16,000 per semester 

Hostel fee: Double / Tripe Occupancy AC Room - Rs. 80,000/- annual (Utilities are extra )
a) Rs. 41,500/- per year for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks as per canteen schedule. This is compulsory for candidates opting for hostel facility of the University.
b) Rs. 27,500/- per year for breakfast, lunch and snacks for day scholars as per the canteen schedule. (Monday to Friday)
