Program Offered:  4-Year Bachelor of Design in Communication Design & Product and Interaction Design

Department of Design, Nirma University, started in 2017. The 4-year Undergraduate program begins with a common Foundation year in Design. There is intense 15 weeks of learning in each of the 7 semesters in studios, classrooms, workshops, and through fieldwork. Learning through Internships and Apprenticeships happens during the 10 weeks summer vacation period, each year. The 8th Semester is a 4-month Industry project, on the basis of which the final Degree is granted.

The Institute trains and provides full placement support to the students. The placement model at Institute is a four-stage process, involving pre-placement activities, career guidance, and executing placement and post-placement reviews.

Intake:
(a) 40 seats in Communication Design
(b) 40 seats in Product and Interaction Design
Total 80 seats

Seats for NRI / NRI Sponsored / Gulf Workers / Foreign nationals: Up to fifteen percent of intake is allocated for admission to NRI/NRI sponsored candidates. Over and above the Intake of 80, 15% (Supernumerary) seats are also allocated for admissions to Persons of Indian Origin, Foreign Nationals, and Children of Indian Workers of Gulf Countries/South East Asia.

Selection Procedure:
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the UCEED-2025 (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design) Part-A examination (conducted by IIT Mumbai ) followed by a Situation Test and Personal Interview conducted by Nirma University on a different date.  The Situation Test and Personal Interview will be conducted at Nirma University, Ahmedabad, Delhi & Pune
Weightage :
(a) Entrance Examination (UCEED Part-A) : 60%
(b) Situation Test & Personal Interview: 40%
Note
1) NRI students who have passed their qualifying examination from outside India will be exempted from UCEED / entrance test. Their evaluation for merit will be based on the minimum qualifying marks as per Nirma University rules of higher secondary education or equivalent exam of the country of residence, skype interview, two letters of recommendation from senior school teachers and portfolio shared through email.

Fee:
- Annual Fee : Rs.4,00,000 for General category, US$7,000 for NRI
- Refundable deposit : Rs.7,000
- One-time fee (Enrollment, Foundation, Orientation, Welcome Kit, Student Activities): Rs.3,000
- Other Annual fee (Exam fee, Registration fee, Grade card fee): Rs.21,000

B.Design is a residential program. Students admitted to the program are required to stay in the Hostel. During the first year of study, the students would be accommodated in an off-campus arranged accommodation, and second-year onwards the students would be accommodated in the campus hostel. The fee for the hostel and related charges will be intimated at the time of admission.
