Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College, which was established in 1962, was reconstituted by the Govt of Uttar Pradesh in 2013 and converted into Madan Mohan Malaviya University. The University presently offers seven B.Tech programs along with MBA, MCA, M.Tech in 12 disciplines and full time PhD programs in all disciplines.

No. of seats : Total 900 (75 each in Chemical and Information Technology. 150 each in other branches)
Domicile requirement / relaxation : Admission is open only to the candidates who have passed / appearing in the qualifying examination from any institution located in UP or whose parents (Father or Mother only) are domicile of UP and they have passes/appearing in the qualifying examination from an institution located outside UP. Domicile relaxation exists for specific categories of defence personnel and employees of All India Services of UP Cadre. Pls see clause 12.5 in the prospectus.
MMMUT MET & JEE (Mains) seats breakup
90% seats of total intake in will be filled on the basis of merit list of MET
Remaining 10% of total intake (and an additional 10% supernumerary seats) will be filled from the following JEE (Mains) qualified candidates :
(i) Admission against 10% seats of total intake from candidates who have appeared the qualifying examination from UP or the candidates whose parents are domicile of UP.
(ii) Admission against 10% supernumerary seats of total intake from candidates who have appeared in JEE (Mains) Examination from any Indian state other than Uttar Pradesh.
Reservation
(a) Vertical : SC of UP (21%), ST of UP (2%), OBC of UP (27%), EWS of UP (10%)
(b) Horizontal : Within each vertical category, horizontal reservation is available for
(i) dependents of freedom fighters from UP (2%)
(ii) handicapped / disabled of UP (5%)
(iii) girls of UP (20%)
(iv) sons/daughters of defence personnel of UP either retired (superannuated) or killed / disabled in action or defence personnel posted in UP (5%).
NRI candidates : Non Resident Indian candidates who possess prescribed qualifications (Refer clause 11.4 of prospectus), may get direct admission in B.Tech. on 5% seats of total intake in respective B.Tech. course on merit, subject to the latest instructions of the University and UP Govt. The candidates opting for admission under this quota, need not appear in Admission Test of MMMUT. The detailed information will be published in the month of May on University website
Direct admission to Kashmiri Migrants : Direct admission to Kashmiri migrants in first year may be made as per latest instructions of AICTE/UGC/UP Govt on the number of seats as notified, for which a notification inviting applications may be published in the month of May. The candidates opting for admission under this quota, need not appear in Admission Test of MMMUT.
Admission to fee waiver seats for Economically Weaker meritorious students : As per AICTE/UGC notification, a maximum of 5% seats of approved intake in the respective B.Tech. courses will be available under Fee Waiver category for the economically weaker meritorious candidates on supernumerary basis. No tuition fee will be charged from the candidates admitted against such seats; however, such candidates will have to pay all other fees and charges as applicable. The economically weaker candidates (annual income of parents/guardians being less than Rs. 6.00 lac from all sources or as prescribed by AICTE/UGC/UP Government at the time of counseling) must submit certificate no. 12 (income certificate) at the time of document verification during the counseling.
Rural area weightage : A weightage of 3% of the total marks obtained at Admission Test will be given to such UPGE candidates for Ist year of B.Tech. course, who have passed the qualifying examination from an institution situated in rural area of Uttar Pradesh. For this purpose, the institution should be situated in the jurisdiction of Gram Panchayat but the area should not be industrially developed area.
This weightage is not applicable for UPGD candidates (for UPGD definition, refer clause 12.3 of prospectus).
Rural area weightage is not applicable to candidates opting for any other reservation (OBC/SC/ST) including UPGL.
Answer sheet scrutiny : The result of MET for respective courses as declared by the University shall be final. However, the candidate can get his/ her answer sheets scrutinized on payment of Rs.10,000/- per paper within 7 days of declaration of result. The fee may be paid in the form of DD drawn in favour of Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur payable at Gorakhpur. The application for scrutiny may be submitted to The Coordinator, Malaviya Entrance Test (MET), Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, Deoria Road, Gorakhpur–273010, in writing. This fee shall be refunded in case of genuinity of the claim.
University Fee : B.Tech first year fee is Rs.1,10,000/- for hostellers (including Rs.10,000/- caution deposit) and Rs.90,000/- for non hostellers (including Rs.5,000/- caution deposit)
