About Krea University: Krea University is a state private university, located in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. It is located about 60kms from Chennai, and 50 kms from Tirupati. The university offers a unique interwoven learning approach.  During the course of the programme, students may choose to pursue a combination of Majors/Joint-Majors, Minors and Concentrations offered along with a Capstone Project/Thesis in the final year.

The Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) Society is the sponsoring body of Krea University.  The The governing council consists of Lakshmi Narayanan (co-founder of Cognizant), Nobel winner Dr Esther Duflo, Dr. Raghuram Rajan (former Governor of the RBI) while the advisory group consists of luminaries like Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, S Ramadorai (former CEO & MD of TCS), steel industrialist Sajjan Jindal among others.

Course Structure: Each student needs to take a mandatory eleven core and skill courses in the first year.

a) Core courses: Literature & Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Social Analysis and Historical Immersion, Scientific Reasoning, Philosophical Perspectives Across Cultures, Creative Expression

b) Skill courses: Writing & Oral Communication, Introduction to Topics in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Design Thinking, Ethics

Major in second year: Students will choose a major in their second year. Students will complete required and elective courses towards the chosen major. They will also be encouraged to choose cognate and/or elective courses in other disciplines. These additional courses may fulfil the requirements of a minor, or simply reflect the breadth of disciplinary knowledge available at Krea.

Economics, Psychology, Computer Science, Biological Sciences, History, Environmental Studies, Politics, Mathematics, Literature, Sociology and Social Anthropology, Physics, Chemistry, Data Science, Literature and Arts

Minors:
Business Studies, Philosophy, Global Arts

Admission Criteria
Admissions are carried out in 5 Rounds/cycles.
Each round consists of 2 stages:

>> Stage 1 - Online assessment: Students who submit the application with all the relevant documents will appear for Krea Aptitude Test. This step helps Krea University gauge students’ abilities to organise, synthesise, and articulate thoughts on various aspects of a given topic, and understand the well-rounded perspectives of the aspirant.

>> Stage 2 - Case Analysis and/or Personal Interaction: Following a review of the application and the student’s performance in the Krea Aptitude Test, applicants will move into the next stage of the Admissions process, which comprises the Krea Immersive Case Analysis and/or Personal Interaction.

a) KREA immersive Case Analysis (KIC): The case discussions comprise a group of fellow candidates and panellists. The Krea Immersive Case analysis is a mere tool to enable candidates to be able to articulate their thoughts with more liberty and clarity.

b) Personal Interaction: Personal interaction will be held with students on a one-on-one basis, and the panel will comprise members of faculty.

Fee
All amounts are annual.
- Admissions fee at the time of acceptance – Rs.35,000/-
- Tuition fee: Rs.8,15,000/-
- Living expenses: Rs.2,00,000/- (include launderette costs up to Rs.500 per month)
- One-time refundable deposit: Rs.50,000/- (payable as instalment 3 of Trimester 1)

The annual fee is subject to revision every year in line with inflation. This would be in the range of 5% to 8% annually.

Financial aid
Eligibility for financial assistance is broadly driven by family income. Those applicants, whose combined family income is less than Rs.35 lakhs, are eligible to apply.

The final decision and quantum of financial assistance are based on a detailed review of all documents and information that may be sought from the applicant and other sources.
