Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University) in collaboration with Pawan Hans Limited (A Govt. of India undertaking) offers a degree program namely, B.Sc. (Aeronautics) in Mechanical and Avionics Streams. B.Sc. (Aeronautics) will provide its students a strong aviation background to pursue higher education to acquire top positions in aviation industry.
The duration of the course is three years consisting of six semesters. First five semesters of the program will be a combination of theory and practical classes and in the sixth semester the student will undergo practical/hands-on experience on live Helicopter/Aircraft, at Aircraft Maintenance Organisation.
While pursuing this B.Sc. (Aeronautics) program, interested students would also be able to avail the opportunity to simultaneously appear in various modules of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). After successful completion of the applicable DGCA modules, the students will get BAMEL (Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License) from DGCA as per CAR-66 requirement.
NIRF 2023 Rank : Ranked 12 in “Overall”, 3 in “University”, 26 in “Engineering”, 6 in “Architecture & Planning”, 20 in “Research Institutions”, 25 in “Management”, 10 in “Dental” and 5 in “Law” category.
Intake : 27 in each stream (Mechanical and Avionics) + 1 under KM and 1 under JK category.
Selection Procedure : There will be an Entrance Test. Admission will be granted purely on merit of Entrance Test and as per University’s reservation policy.
Muslim minority reservation : 30% of total seats are for Muslim applicants, 10% of total seats are for Women applicants who are Muslims, 10% of total seats are for OBCs and STs who are Muslims.
The reservation for Muslim OBC candidates will only be applicable to the candidates belonging to “Non-Creamy Layer”. All such applicants are required to submit an OBC (Central Government List) certificate from the competent authority, format of which is available on http://ncbc.nic.in/backwardclasses/index.html
Other reservations : 5% for physically challenged persons, 5% for internal students of Jamia who have passed qualifying examination from Jamia schools as regular students, 5% (not exceeding 2 seats per programme) for Kashmiri migrants.
Reservation and relaxations under special provisions also available for candidates from Jammu and Kashmir, foreign candidates, outstanding players, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers.
Course fee : Rs.1,50,000/- per year
Hostel : There is no guarantee of hostel accommodation as University has limited residential facility for students.
Answer key upload and challenging : The answer key of Entrance test question paper (Of Multiple Choice Questions Only) will be uploaded on admission result page within 5 working days after the entrance test is over. The applicant has to submit their grievance/challenge online for change in key, within 48 hours after the key upload. The candidate has to pay fees of Rs.500/- per programme to challenge the uploaded key. No grievance will be entertained without fee payment.
