Course offered: Ab-Initio to CPL (Commercial Pilot License) course with Multi–Engine endorsement and Instrument Rating (IR) on Multi-Engine Aircraft (36 months duration but dependent on individual’s performance in academics and flying and unforeseen contingencies).
Candidates can also opt for B.Sc (Aviation) Degree from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University (RMLAU), Faizabad, UP, simultaneously with CPL training. Duration of B.Sc course will be 3 years.

Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt of India. It is the pioneer flying training institution in the country. IGRUA offers Ab-initio to CPL Course for issue of CPL with Multi engine endorsement and Instrument Rating (IR) on Multiengine aircraft. IGRUA has a tie up with FSTC for Type training on (A320/B737/ATR-72/Q-400) at their Gurugram or Hyderabad centers.
Shortlisted candidates in Final Merit shall be inducted in Two batches starting July 2026 and January 2027 onwards.
No. of seats
CPL: 125 (49 General, 19 SC, 10 ST, 34 OBC, 13 EWS).
BSc: 120
In case SC/ST/EWS and OBC candidates do not qualify even after 5% relaxation in the Entrance Written test, the seats would be de-reserved for General Category.
Selection process: Selection shall be based on merit - 10+2 marks in Physics, Mathematics and English, in addition to marks scored in the Written Test, English Proficiency, Interview and Pilot Aptitude Test.
Expenses
a) Training fee: Rs.55 Lacs payable in four quarterly instalments in one year. Additional expenditure to be incurred towards cost of Uniform, Navigation Computer, Head Phones etc. The training fee and other expenditure is same for all category candidates. b) Boarding & Lodging: Separate Hostels for Boys and Girls. Charges approximately Rs.15,000/- per month.
c)Type training: IGRUA has a tie up with FSTC for Type training on (A320/B737/ATR-72/Q-400) at their Gurugram or Hyderabad centers. Candidates, who opt for CPL with Type Training on aircraft mentioned above will have to pay the following additional fee for Type Training to FSTC directly:
i) A320 or B737: Rs.17.00 Lakhs
ii) ATR-72 or Q-400: Rs.19.00 Lakhs
It is mandatory for candidates who wish to undergo this particular training to indicate the same at the time of filling up the form for entrance exam.
Travelling Allowance to SC/ST Candidates : SC / ST candidates will be reimbursed only once 2nd Class to and fro rail fare on production of tickets from their registered address to Raebareli to appear for Interview / Pilot Aptitude Test.
SC / ST candidates are exempt from application fee : SC & ST candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee.
