The Karnataka Common Entrance Test is conducted for the purpose of determining the eligibility / merit, for admission of Karnataka candidates and the ward/s of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants to the First year or First semester of full time courses for Government share of seats in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Bachelor of Yoga and Naturopathy (BNYS), BSc (Nursing), Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.), Farm Science courses i.e., B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons) Sericulture, B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture, B.Sc (Hons) Forestry, B.Tech. Biotechnology, B.Sc. (Hons) Community Science, B.Tech (Agri. Engg), B.Tech (Food Technology), B.Tech (Dairy Technology), B.F.Sc. (Fisheries), B.Sc. (Hons) Agri. Business Management, B. Pharma and Pharma-D course, in Government / University / Private Aided / Private Un-Aided Professional Educational Institutions in the State of Karnataka.
For admission to Architecture course candidate should compulsorily appear for NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture.
Candidates who wish to seek admission to Medical or Dental or Ayurveda or Unani or Homoeopathy courses must compulsorily qualify in NEET-UG-2024 (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) & subject to fulfilling the eligibility clauses of rule 5 of CET-2006 rules / Government relevant orders.
Domicile : Candidates who satisfy one of the 15 specified clauses / eligibility criteria only are eligible for selection / allotment of government seats. Pls read the same carefully before applying. Refer Section 6 of the information brochure.
Reservation : Available for various categories including SC, ST, OBC, Kannada medium, Rural, wards of J&K migrants, Defence, Sports, NCC, Scouts and Guides, Physically disabled, Anglo Indian, Para military etc. Pls refer Section 11 and 12 of the prospectus for details.
Agriculturist quota is available for Farm science courses (in B.Tech, it is applicable only for Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Biotech and Agriculture Engineering).
Note: The candidate who has obtained a seat in any discipline through KEA (CET Cell) in any of the previous year’s shall not be eligible to continue in the course to which he / she has been admitted during the previous years immediately upon selection of a seat in any different discipline during the current year.
