About: Ashoka University is a private university with a focus on liberal arts and sciences. Located in Sonipat, Haryana, which is about 50kms from New Delhi, it was established in 2014 by efforts of 70 eminent personalities which include the likes of Ashok Trivedi (Co-Founder of iGate), Dilip Shanghvi (founder Sun Pharma), Nirmal Jain (founder India Infoline), Sanjeev Bikhchandani (naukri.com, shiksha.com) and Jaithirth Rao (founder MphasiS).

Course structure: The curriculum comprises four essential categories: Foundation Courses, Major Courses (Interdisciplinary Majors), Co-Curricular Courses, and Internships.

To graduate with a B.A./B.Sc. Honours or Honours with Research degree, students are required to fulfill the prescribed credit requirements within each category.

Majority of courses are assigned 4 credits, whereas co-curricular courses carry 2 credits. Internships can either be of 2 or 4 credits, with a minimum of 2 credits being mandatory for graduation.

Concentration

The Concentration will consist of four 4-credit courses (or courses totaling 16 credits) in that subject, at least two of which must be 200-level or above. 

Admission Criteria
Admissions are carried out in 4 Rounds/cycles.

Each round consists of 3 stages:

Stage1

- Application submission (Academic scores, ACT/SAT scores/Other test scores, Personal Essays, Recommendation, Non-academic engagement)

- Assessments (Ashoka Aptitude Assessment AAA and On-the-spot Essay)

Stage 2: Interview with panel (only of shortlisted candidates from Stage 1)

Stage 3: Decision & Financial aid

Fee for 2025-26 intake was as below:

All amounts are annual.

- Tuition fee: Rs. 10,22,700
- Residence Cost: Rs. 2,00,550
-Essential services: Rs.5,400
- Total Year 1: Rs.  12,28,650
