Symbiosis University SEED 2025 - Entrance Exam for Bachelor of Design

Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) Pune and Symbiosis School of Planning, Architecture, and Design (SPAD) Nagpur are now accepting applications for their Bachelor of Design (B. Des) program for the academic year 2025-26. Admission to the program is based on the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), an online test that evaluates candidates on creativity, design aptitude, and visual perception skills.

Program Overview

The Bachelor of Design is a 4-year program that begins with a common Foundation Program during the first two semesters. This program focuses on building core skills in sketching, visual perception, and critical awareness of design history. Following the foundation, students specialize in one of the following disciplines, based on their chosen path at either SPAD Nagpur or SID Pune:

Communication Design

Seats: 60 (SPAD), 92 (SID)

Specializations: Graphic Design, User Experience Design, Animation Film Design (available at both SPAD and SID), Video Film Design (SID only).

Industrial Design

Seats: 30 (SPAD), 52 (SID)

Specializations: Interior Space Design (SPAD and SID), Product Design (SID only).

Fashion Design

Seats: 52 (SID)

Fashion Communication

Seats: 30 (SID)

A number of seats are reserved for international students across the various specializations.

Admission Process

The admission process for B. Des at Symbiosis follows a multi-step process:

SEED Online Exam (12 January 2025): Candidates must appear for the SEED exam, which assesses their design aptitude. Results will be published on the institute's website.

Portfolio Submission: Candidates shortlisted after SEED must upload their portfolio one day before their scheduled Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI).

PRPI Task and Interview: Candidates will receive a PRPI task three days before the online PRPI session. The task, portfolio review, and personal interview will be conducted online, and final selection will be based on cumulative performance in SEED, the PRPI task, and the interview.
