Pondicherry Univ, UG-PG Dual Degrees, 1 Year study in France

Pondicherry University, a Central Univ, has started accepting online applications for its niche 5 Year Integrated UG-PG courses in Social Sciences, Computer Science, Mathematics and related areas. The admission to these is through an All India Entrance Test scheduled to be conducted in Aug 2020.

About Pondicherry University : Pondicherry University, accredited with “A” grade by NAAC, was established in 1985, and has 3 campuses. The University has 15 Schools, 38 Departments, 12 Centres and 1 Chair offering over 140 PG, PG-Diploma/Certificate & Research programmes. The University has two-off campuses, one located in Port Blair (Andamans) with two Departments viz., Ocean Studies and Marine Biology and Coastal Disaster Management and another Post-Graduate Centre at Karaikal.

At present, 92 Colleges offering various courses in Arts & Science, Education, Law, Dental, Medical & Para-Medical, Veterinary and Engineering are affiliated to Pondicherry University. Apart from this, the University has entered MoU for academic collaboration with 76 Universities/Institutions, of which 40 are International and 36 are National, during last three years.

Courses in Social Sciences

(a) 5 Year Integrated MA in Social & Economic Administration and Law (SEAL)

It is a Joint Degree Programme. The students from Pondicherry University who opt for this Programme will spend the first two years in Pondicherry University, and the third year will be in Paris-1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, France. The MA Integ (SEAL) is an interdisciplinary blend of Social Sciences, Economics, Commerce, Management, and Law, and it would give the perfect grounding to appear for the UPSC / IAS / IFS. Students will get degrees from Pondicherry University as well as from Paris-1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, France.

Intake : 20 seats

Eligibility : Higher Secondary, Intermediate or Senior Secondary School Certificate Exam, conducted by the Centre or State Government Board OR Pre- University or Pre-Degree Examination of a recognized university OR The French Baccalaureate or any other qualification equivalent to the above mentioned qualifications approved by the Academic Council of the University.

(b) 5 Year Integrated MA in History / Political Science / Sociology

Intake : 25 in each subject

Eligibility : Pass in +2 with a minimum of 50% of marks  

Courses in Science & Maths

(c) 5 Year Integrated MSc in Mathematics / Computer Science / Statistics

Intake : 25 seats in each subject

Eligibility : Pass in +2 with a minimum of 50% of marks with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as subjects of study (Candidates with other branches in +2 are not eligible for this programme)

(d) 5 Year Integrated MSc in Applied Geology / Physics / Chemistry

Intake : 37 seats in each subject

Eligibility : Pass in +2 with 50% marks and should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
