Aspiring candidates can now apply for the four-year Bachelor's Program in Design, with applications closing on January 7, 2025.
IICD offers a comprehensive undergraduate program, allowing students to specialize in one of six distinctive design tracks, including Soft Material Design, Hard Material Design, Fired Material Design (Ceramics, Earthware, Stoneware, Terracotta), Fashion Clothing Design, Jewellery Design, and Crafts Communication. Each specialization integrates hands-on skills with innovative design thinking, preparing students for creative and impactful careers in the craft and design sector.
Established as an autonomous institute by the Government of Rajasthan in 1995, IICD operates under a public-private partnership model with the Ambuja Educational Institute (AEI) and is now a part of the Rajasthan government’s Department of Industry. The degrees awarded to students are conferred by Vishwakarma Skills University.
Admission Process & Key Dates
The admission process includes a two-part Entrance Test followed by a Personal Interview. Candidates will also submit a portfolio as part of the assessment. Given that some dates may overlap with other major entrance exams, like UCEED and Jindal Law School, we advise candidates to plan submissions carefully to avoid conflicts.
Fees & Financial Assistance
The fee structure for Indian and SAARC nationals for the first semester is Rs. 2,53,000 (inclusive of tuition, hostel, and mess charges). For foreign and NRI candidates, the fee is set at Rs. 4,75,300. IICD also provides several financial aid options, including scholarships for economically disadvantaged students, support from the Lady Bamford Foundation, and other means-based assistance programs.
With an intake capacity of 180 seats, IICD has reserved seats for OBC, ST, SC, and PH candidates as per government norms. Past recruiters for IICD graduates include prominent names like Reliance Retail, FabMan, Princess Diya Kumari Foundation, and Upgrad, showcasing the institute's commitment to employability in the crafts and design sector.
