FLAME University, a private Jain minority university near Pune, has opened its early admission cycle for the 2025 intake to its UG programs. It provides a range of four-year undergraduate programs with an exit option after three years. Formerly known as the Foundation for Liberal and Management Education, the university offers degrees in B.A. (Hons), B.Sc. (Hons), BBA (Hons), and BBA (Communications Management) (Hons).  It also now offers a 4 year B.Design program.

Academic Structure

FLAME’s programs focus on a liberal education model, combining Foundation Courses, Specialization Courses, Experiential Learning, Value-Added Courses, and Open Elective Courses. The courses are organized into five broad knowledge areas called "Universes": Humanities, Social Sciences, Fine and Performing Arts, Physical and Natural Sciences, and Global Studies. Students must complete at least two courses from each universe, promoting interdisciplinary learning.

Specializations

By the end of the first year, students choose their areas of specialization, including a major and minor. The available majors span diverse fields:

  • B.A. (Hons): Economics, Psychology, Journalism, Sociology, and more.
  • B.Sc. (Hons): Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, etc.
  • BBA (Hons): Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, and others.
  • BBA (Communications Management) (Hons): Advertising, Digital Marketing, Film & Television Management.

Minors such as Design, Dance, and Theatre are also offered, while some disciplines like General Management and Communication Studies are excluded as minors.

Admission Process

Admissions are conducted through five online cycles, beginning with an Early Decision round. The selection process includes:

  • An Admission Test (FEAT/SAT/ACT)
  • Essay submission
  • Online personal interview
  • Review of academic records
  • Assessment of extracurricular achievements and a Statement of Purpose (SOP)

The FEAT exam is taken online, with no negative marking and consists of 100 questions over two hours. Applicants can submit SAT/ACT scores instead of FEAT, which enhances their chances of selection.

Key Dates and Eligibility

The application deadline for early decision cycle is December 1, 2024, with FEAT exams running from November 29 to December 3. Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements based on their educational background, including certificates from CBSE, IB, or American/International schools. Mathematics is mandatory for certain programs like Computer Science and Data Science.

Applications must be submitted online with supporting documents, including 10th and 12th marksheets, SAT/ACT scores, and passport-size photos. Students provisionally applying can submit final certificates by August 31, 2025.
