BASE University Opens Admissions for 5-Year Int M.Sc. Economics Program for 2025-26

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE) University, Bengaluru, has announced the commencement of admissions for its prestigious 5-Year Integrated M.Sc. Economics program for the academic session 2025-26.

5-Year Integrated M.Sc. Economics Program

This flagship program offers a comprehensive curriculum that begins with core modules in economics, statistics, and econometric theory, providing a solid foundation in the initial three years. Students have the flexibility to explore electives and specialize in areas of interest. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on training in programming languages such as Python and R, equipping students with essential data analysis skills. Intake and Reservation
The program admits a total of 75 Indian candidates, with a reservation policy allocating 60% of seats to Karnataka domiciled students and 40% to candidates from across India. An additional 5 seats are reserved for Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and Foreign Nationals (FN).

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have completed their 2nd PUC/12th Standard or an equivalent examination with English as one of the languages and Mathematics as a core subject, securing a minimum of 65% marks in aggregate (60% for SC/ST category students).

Selection Process
Admission is based on performance in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET 2025), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Applicants are required to appear for the English (Test Code: 101) and General Test (Test Code: 501) sections of CUET 2025.

Application Procedure
1. CUET 2025 Application: Candidates must register and fill out the CUET 2025 application form available on the NTA website. While filling the CUET application, they should select the English (101) and General Test (501) sections.

2. BASE University Application: In addition to the CUET 2025 application, candidates are required to submit a separate application to BASE University through their official website. This step is mandatory for consideration in the admission process.

Last date for online application PG and UG: one week after CUET 2025 UG & PG results declaration.

Fee Structure
The annual fee for the program is around ?1.25 lakh (2024 data), which includes accommodation, making it an affordable option for a comprehensive education in economics. ?
